Room description

Couple looking to rent out spare bedroom. Nice, spacious flat in a great location, overlooking the river and a 2 min walk from East India DLR station. We are located close to Canary Wharf, O2 and just a few stop from London City Airport and Stratford shopping centre.

We are looking for someone who loves animals, as we have two incredibly sweet and well behaved doggies and have recently taken on 4 budgies that were in need of a good home. All animals are kept very clean and are well trained and you are welcome to interact with them as much as you like although you probably won't be able to escape being greeted by the dogs when you enter the front door.

The house rules are pretty relaxed, all we really ask is that renters tidy up after themselves. We value a clean and tidy space, not to an unreasonably nit picky standard, but things like tidying up the kitchen after using it, emptying clean dishes from the dishwasher before loading dirty ones, and a weekly scrubbing of your own shower will be expected. This might seem like pretty straight forward stuff, but we've experienced renters who seemed to assume their rent included maid service and that got old pretty quickly, so I would rather be upfront about what we expect.

We've taken part time renters before and are even willing to reduce the rent a little for a part time tenant. We are completely aware that this will only suit very specific circumstances, but we've had renters before who were European or lived in the countryside, they would stay with us Monday to Thursday/Firday and return home for the weekend. We would prefer a renter who does not work from home, we find the dynamics just work better when everyone leaves the apartment for a portion of the day so we don't crowd each other.
