Room description

Hi all,

We are looking to open up our happy home to a fabulous new housemate. Mario and Victoria have lived here for nine years now and Kristian joined us over two years ago, therefore, trust us when we say we highly recommend it! We have a small and cosy double room going for someone who wants to join the team.

We are really chuffed with the homely vibe we have created in our house and the big, bright kitchen and lounge/dining room (all on the ground floor) really are the heart of the house. The double doors open up onto our much loved private garden, which is a proper sun trap... just add sun! We also benefit from a large bathroom complete with shower unit and separate bathtub, and a second toilet downstairs, so there is no fighting over the loo!

The way the house is set out; all our bedrooms are upstairs, so in general we spend evenings downstairs, cooking, chilling or chatting! We are pretty casual people, easy to lounge about with; but we have our own interests too; which we are happy to share in from time to time. Mario works in hospitality, Victoria works in Social Care and Kristian is a football data scientist (yes, that’s a real job), so we are fairly quiet during the week. At weekends we tend to enjoy exploring London either with our housemates or doing our own thing. Eating and drinking is our speciality, so the more the merrier!

It goes without saying, we absolutely love the area and we think our little house is a gem. We are about 10mins away from Battersea park, 15 mins walk to Northcote road, and we have our very own Gail's bakery and French creperie just on the square behind us. There are several good pubs within staggering distance including the Woodman where we tend to (usually very poorly) challenge other locals in their weekly pub quiz. For those detox days, there is also a gym just a few mins down the road which Kristian visits regularly and Mario has been talking about joining for a few months now, as well as Victoria’s preferred Fitness First gym further along.

There are great connections by all forms of transport and I'd say our nearest station is Clapham Junction (about 10 mins walk away). However, we are also within walking distance of Kings Road and a 10-15 minute bus journey from Battersea Power station/ Vauxhall/Clapham Common/Victoria. Our nearest bus stop is 2-3 mins away, so safe for those late night finishes. For the outdoorsy types, we are also a couple of mins walk from the Thames path, where you can take undistrubed strolls all the way to Putney!

So, about your room.....the room is light, bright, and quiet; sitting just above our sunny garden at the back of the house. The room contains a smaller double bed, a wardrobe, a bookcase, a small chest of drawers and bedside table.

The rent for Room is £800 pcm ALL IN, with a deposit of £700, which we would ask for prior to move in to secure the room.

The price includes rent + ALL BILLS including internet, TV licence, council tax and household products- such as cleaning bits and essentials- so there are NO other hidden charges. The landlord has sadly just increased our rent, but on the flip side; at least we know the rent wont increase for at least the next 12 months!

I'm afraid we cannot accommodate working from home, as we like to protect our communal areas for lounging and laughter, and sadly the bedroom does not fit an additional desk and chair.
